Beijing Tour of Great Wall, Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square

Your English-speaking Beijing guide will greet you at the Tianjin (Xingang) Port, and escort you to where your private car and driver are waiting.
It takes about 2.5 hours drive to Beijing.
We will visit Juyongguan Great Wall, Guan means pass in English, Juyongguan is one of the three greatest passes of the Great Wall of China, and Juyongguan Great Wall is the nearest section of the Great Wall to Beijing city. Juyongguan Great Wall is located in an 18 km long valley. It features a white marble 'Cloud Platform' with an arched doorway and an inscribed board above with Chinese characters saying 'the greatest pass in the world'. To the east of the platform, the Great Wall crosses a river, which is one of the rare sights of the wall. To the west of the platform, the Great Wall rises steeply to the top of the mountain. The Juyongguan Great Wall was not as famous as Badaling Great Wall or Mutianyu Great Wall, because it opended to the public later, but Badaling Great Wall is now always very crowded and Mutianyu Great Wall is crowded during the summer holiday and China's National Day holiday, so a growing number of international visitors now choose to visit the Juyongguan Great Wall.
After lunch at a local restaurant, we will go to visit the Forbidden City, ranked among the top palaces in the world, including the Palace of Versailles in France, Buckingham Palace in England, the Kremlin in Russia. The Forbidden City is the largest, best preserved palace complex remaining in the world, it occupies an area of 720,000 square meters (177.9 acres) with 980 buildings and 8,704 room-units. The innder buildings of the Forbidden City are divided into Front Court and Back Palace. In addition to its grand buildings, The Forbidden City has a large collection of priceless art and exquisite odjects used by the emperors and their families, which makes it one of the top attractions in the world. For instance, it has the largest jadeite collection in the world.
Go out from the main gate of the Forbidden City - Meridian Gate, we will reach to the Tiananmen Square, where you can see the Tiananmen Tower, Monument to the People's Heroes, Great Hall of the People, Mao Zedong Memorial Hall, and the national flag raising ceremony in the early morning. The Tiananmen Square was initially built in 1651, and was enlarged to its present size in 1958. The largest monument in China's history - the Monument to the People's Heroes was built at the center of the Tiananmen Square in 1952. On the west of the Square is the Great Hall of the People which was erected in 1959, the Great Hall of the People is the site of the China National People's Congress meetings. The Memorial Hall of Chairman Mao Zedong was completed in 1977 at the south side of the Square, our Chairman Mao's body lies in a crystal coffin for people to pay their respects.
